| Back to a very cold China in February. Arrived sans luggage (including tripod!!) but it arrived a couple of days later so I got the opportunity to get out in the cold and take some pictures.
Not much scenery to photogaph here when its like this - everything is dead - but life is colourful enough - it even works in Mono sometimes. March 3rd took me to Shanghai. One of the most modern cities in the world - but after my meetings I got the driver to drop me in the old part of town and I got some pictures here - it was almost like Dickensian London in parts - the smells were incredible - and the food wasn't bad. All this will be gone very soon so it was maybe my last chance to photograph it. What the locals must have thought about this western guy dressed in a business suit taking photos of their houses is annyone's guess Friday and Staurday found me in Dongying - possibly the least photogenic place I've ever been. But I'll include a few shots anyway - as it's a travel journal. |
