| OK so there was life before digital - a handful of scanned images from the 90s
From my time with LICENERGY. A shot from Cairo - working on the Cairo Gas Distribution network project for Petrogas - what a waste of energy that was. Russia - a visit to Honeywell Russia and meetings at the Hungarian Embassy after some Hungarian guy turned up at my room and said "I heard you were in town!!" Walked into Red Square one night to find myself in the audience of a Pavarotti concert. Spent a lot of time with a party from Belorusia and was given a guided tour of the city by a young lady called Larrissa Bogomolskaya who worked for Honeywell - I've a few more pics to scan from this trip which I must post here. China - travelled to Chengdu to talk to the design institute there about pipelines - then to Xi'an to meet with the gas company. Luckily they were happy with what we were doing for them so they took me to see the Terracotta army - no phoyographs allowed!! Romania - Selling a system to Conpet - the Romanian state Oil Co, (another story completely) and dealing with the World Bank who were funding this. I got wind of another project likely to happen the next year for the Romanian gas company Romgaz, so I got the overnight sleeper train from Bucharest to Medias - what an experience. Arrived in Medias at 6:30 am and had to find breakfast in a town that didn't look like it would ever open. |
