Arrived in Japan and remembered that although I have a quad band telephone that's no guarantee it's going to work.
Got to my hotel to find the smallest room I'd ever seen and a notice to say there'd be no power for 24 hours. There was also no internet connection. Faced with the prospect of being completely cut off - I checked out half an hour after checking in and made my way to the Crowne Plaza.
There's something about Japan which always makes me feel at home and I couldn't put my finger on it - then I remembered - they drive on the left!!
After my afternoon meeting I headed back to my hotel and decided against getting a taxi but instead I caught the Metro surprisingly simple to negotiate my way around.
I had a couple of hours spare before meeting my customer for dinner so went for a walk - not really expecting to find anything of interest, however I finally got off the beaten track and found what I think is a Shinto temple - anyway, it was an oasis of calm in this bustling city.
I was sitting at my desk writing emails and happened to look out of the window - and I saw this sunset. Didn't have time to set the camera up properly as I knew I only had a few seconds to get the shots so this picture......
